The questions to take into your first call
- Write down what you want to delegate.Separate messaging, content planning, posting, marketing and reporting. Ask who does each task, how often, and who approves it. A “full-service” label does not define the scope.
- Compare the full fee calculation.Ask whether a commission is calculated before or after platform fees, on all revenue or only new revenue, and how refunds, chargebacks and extra expenses are handled. Use the same revenue assumptions for each offer.
- Keep account control explicit.Agree ownership, access permissions, recovery methods and payout control in writing. Use platform-supported access options where available. Specify how access is removed when the partnership ends.
- Make your boundaries part of the agreement.Set out what may be posted or said in your name, which requests require approval, and what work you will not do. Agree how concerns are escalated to a named contact.
- Read the exit terms.Check the notice period, minimum duration, outstanding payments and how files and accounts are handed back. Ask about exclusivity and any obligations that continue after leaving.
- Ask for evidence you can evaluate.A revenue screenshot without dates, costs or context is not enough. Ask what was measured, over what period, whether results are typical and whether a reference can be shared with permission.
- Agree how you will review the work.Decide on reporting frequency, measures relevant to your business and a named contact. Compare the fee with both the work delivered and your own time commitment.
